From January 15 until March 5th, come experience what close range Texas state snapper fishing is all about. During the cooler months, these large jumbo snapper move in very close to the beach making it possible to target and catch these fish within 9 miles from the jetties. In some occasions you can see the beach from where we catch these fish.
Probably the BEST thing about State Snapper fishing is the generous limit of snapper the angler is allowed to keep. Unlike Federal season where you can keep 2 red snapper, the Texas' season allows you to keep 4. Double the limit. So, if 6 anglers are present the boat limit would be 24 snapper. These trips are paired w/ bay snapper also known as sheepshead. Commonly both are targeted in the same trip. Because it can be windy in January, February and March we still can get to the jetties and catch sheepshead which are great eating and provide fun action. If for some reason it's too rough to go offshore to target snapper, the trip will still run for sheepshead and redfish at a lower price. |
